Senior Dues
If you have not paid your senior dues, you will not be supplied with any of the items that the senior dues would have paid for. Cap and Gown, Senior class T-shirt, senior class dinner, and yearbook.
Prom Tickets are NOT included in your senior dues. Please see the letter that was given to all seniors in September. (It is also included on the ‘Senior blog.’)
If you haven’t paid because you are forgetful, please, get a clue. If you haven’t paid because of financial hardships, please let Mr. Mitchell, Ms. Casali, or Ms. Smith know and we can work with you to make some other arrangements.
Prom
Tickets are available from Ms. Casali. Prom will be on May 15 at Mac and Ray’s in Harrison Twp. 30675 North River Road, Harrison Twp. MI 48045
If you will be bringing a guest who does NOT attend AAW, that guest will need to get a ‘guest form’ from the office.
ALL guests, regardless of age, will be the guests of our school and will be expected to follow the same rules as any other high school student.
Graduation
We apologize for the inconvenience of the venue change for graduation. There was a miscommunication with the original venue and two separate ‘academies’ were scheduled for the same day. However, considering that many of our student’s families have already made travel arrangements in order to attend the ceremony, we believe that changing the location would be more convenient, than changing the date.
Based on the size of the auditorium, all of the seniors will be given 4 tickets to the graduation ceremony.
We will have extras, if your family will need more, please let one of your class advisors know and we can coordinate that with the students. Tickets will be limited to 10 per student. All tickets will be available at NO cost to you. If we find that we have extras, we may be able to make arrangements with your family to supply more tickets. See Mr. Mitchell to get more information.
The graduation ceremony will take place at the South Lake High School auditorium. 21900 East Nine Mile Road St. Clair Shores, MI 48080

Announcements
Mr. Mitchell spoke to the representative from Herff –Jones and they will be sending an insert card for each announcement that was ordered.
They will be sent directly to the school and we will hand them out to the students who ordered them. We will make an announcement when they arrive.
The cards will include the information that has changed, they will be professionally produced, and they will blend with the announcements that you already received.
The announcements will be provided for those students that ordered announcements through Herff-Jones and there will be NO cost to you. If you ordered your announcements through another supplier, contact your repesentative for their policies.
Rehearsal
Graduation Rehearsal will take place on Tuesday, June 2. It will be at 6:00 at South Lake High School.
Senior Dinner
The senior class dinner will take place on Tuesday June 2 at 4:30. It will be at the Lakeland Banquet & Event Center on Nine Mile in St. Clair Shores. (Across from South Lake) 21801 East Nine Mile Road St. Clair Shores, MI 48080
T-Shirts
T-shirt choices were selected by the T shirt committee. They showed up to the meeting to make the decision.
If you think that you have a much better idea, we will consider it if you: write up a description of your idea and/or draw your idea. All entries must be submitted by Friday May 8.
Your class advisors reserve the right to veto ideas that we deem inappropriate, including (but not limited to) ideas that include ANY abbreviations or ANY references to illegal activities. (Illegal for a high school student.)
The following designs were selected by seniors who attended T-shirt meetings.
You have until Monday, May 4th to cast your vote. Any votes cast after this time will not be counted. Votes are to be posted as a comment/reply to this post.
Bear in mind that colors are negotiable (please indicate color suggestions in your post). Also, the T-shirts will say “Seniors,” “Arts Academy in the Woods,” and “2009″ or “‘09.”

Students can make payments anytime by sending them to the Herff/Jones office or paying online at www.gradservhj.com, or they can wait and pay the balance when the orders arrive in the spring.
On October 13th, a representative for Herff Jones will be in the school to take orders for cap & gown, announcements, and class rings. Seniors were given information and order forms on October 1st.
All seniors are expected to pay senior dues of $115. The senior dues will cover the cost of a cap & gown (with a tassel.) ALL seniors must turn in an order form with their sizes for gowns. Caps are one size fits all. If you are only ordering the cap & gown there is no need to pay a deposit on October 13. However, if you would like to order additional items (announcements, rings, extra tassels, etc.) you must pay at least a $75 deposit on October 13th.

Graduation announcemnents and Cap & Gown are being offered to our seniors through Herff Jones/Graduate Services. Our representative is Jerry Boehms. He can be reached at (734)699-4757 or at gradservhj@aol.com
He explained the options to seniors at a meeting on October 1st. If you were not there please see Mr. Mitchell to get the information.
A representative from Herff Jones will be at the school during Lunch A and B on Monday October 13 to take orders for graduation announcements and/or cap and gown.

Prices are:
Cookie Dough – $12 per tub. 2 tubs for $20.
Popcorn – $8 per tub.
Fudge cakes – $10 per tub.
September 2008
Dear AAW Class of 2009 and Parents of the Class of 2009,
The Class of 2009 will be fundraising for Prom all year! Our first major fundraiser is a Cookie Dough Fundraiser. Order forms will be available from Mr. Mitchell by September 19, 2008. Orders will be due on November 11, and they will be delivered to the school on Tuesday, December 2, 2008.
On Wednesday, October, 1st, Herff Jones will be doing a presentation about Senior Graduation items for the seniors during 7th Hour in the gym. Students will be bringing home order information on that day. Herff Jones will then return on Monday and Tuesday, October13th and 14th during Lunch A & B to take orders.
Senior Dues for the Class of 2009 are $115. Senior Dues must be paid in full by Thursday, January 22nd, 2009. Checks can be made payable to: Arts Academy in the Woods. All monies should be handed into Mr. Mitchell, Ms. Smith, or the main office.
Senior Dues are used to cover graduation items and expenses, the yearbook, the Senior T-Shirt, as well as the Senior Dinner, on the day of Graduation Rehearsal.
